We realize our members are students first, and we want to see them succeed academically. As a Fraternity, we provide education to our scholarship officers on utilizing campus resources for academic assistance and encourage them to consistently evaluate their chapter’s activities in order to make sure the member experience is fostering an environment that champions academic success. The Epsilon Omega chapter at Truman State has several scholarship programs that are implemented in order to help our members excel academically. Some of the scholarship programs include: required Study Hours in the library based on the member’s GPA from the previous semester, providing each new member with a Gamma Buddy, which is an older member in her respective major to act as a mentor for classes, and award recognition ceremonies. All of these programs have helped our chapter achieve several awards in the past two years such as the Most Improved GPA award by the Greek Life office at Truman, the Fall 2015 pledge class had the highest fall GPA out of all the Panhellenic sororities on campus, and in the Spring 2016 semester the chapter earned the third highest GPA. We understand the importance of academics and are constantly striving to improve our scholarship program.
